Reclaiming Spaces: Ras Al Amoud
The Place Making - Ras El Amoud project is a community-led effort aimed at transforming an abandoned, trash-filled area between three schools into a welcoming and functional space. Through hands-on participation, residents and students built a geodome trellis with rounded seating inside, creating an outdoor classroom for learning and gathering. Additionally, a curved wooden bench was installed under the shade of old pine trees, offering a peaceful resting area. By cleaning and reviving the space, this initiative not only enhances the local environment but also fosters a sense of community ownership and engagement. Through Mostadam Eco Design’s sustainable approach, this project integrates eco-friendly materials and participatory urban design, empowering the neighborhood to reclaim and reimagine their public spaces.
